  17. I'm considering LW3.5 but have a few questions
  18. that I hope someone can answer (THANKS in advance!!!):

  20.     o Does LW support outputting anims in DCTV format?
  21.       if not, is AH thinking of adding support for it
  22.       in V4.0???
  23.  
  24.     o To make "decent" animation scenes (say 3 airplanes
  25.       flying over a town maded up of 10 low-detail houses),
  26.       how much RAM is enough??? (PLEASE don't say all you
  27.       can afford!!! I'm poor!!!) is 8MB ok???

  29.     o is there direct support for HAM8???
  30.  
  31.     o is it true that the "preview anim" option
  32.       is not there anymore? will it be in 4.0???

  34.     o for a tipical not too complex frame, can I
  35.       expect rendering times within the range 1-5
  36.       minutes per frame on an 030/82 33Mhz acce???
  37.       (I know "typical" is hard to describe but...)

  39.     o is there a student discount for LW3.5???
  40.       I could afford something in the $300 range,
  41.       but $600 is just way too much.

  43.     o Lastly, what PD or commercial programs will
  44.       take LW3.5 anims (or frames?) and convert them
  45.       as they appear in a certain directory to a
  46.       DCTV anim???  (this is a VERY important question,
  47.       since I cannot afford a single-frame VTR or a
  48.       PAR, or anything fancy like that, I was thinking
  49.       of making DCTV anims and playing them off the HD
  50.       using BigAnim and recording them directly to my
  51.       old VCR...)

  53.     o One last thing!!! Has anyone ever used Clarisa's
  54.       SSA animtion format??? they claim 60 fps, but
  55.       they don't specify if you can get even smooth
  56.       30fps off a standard A1200 HD...)
